Tompkins Wake is delighted to announce it has been granted Crown Property accreditation as a supplier of property services to the New Zealand Government (Crown).
Areas that Tompkins Wake has gained accreditation in include the acquisition of land for public works, negotiating compensation and legalisation of land required for roading purposes. LINZ (Land Information New Zealand) accreditation gives Tompkins Wake the ability to carry out specific property work for the Crown, all of which will be overseen by Tompkins Wake partner Phil Shannon. Phil is the nominated person directly authorized to carry out these services, assisted by the wider Tompkins Wake Local Government and Property teams.
Phil says, “This is a considerable achievement given the stringent application and selection process. It is made all the more significant because Tompkins Wake is the only legal firm in the Waikato region to have achieved LINZ accreditation. It is also part of our commitment to deliver the highest quality strategic and legal services to our clients.”
Tompkins Wake acts for a large number of Local Authorities both within the Waikato and adjoining regions. “Accreditation allows the firm to provide a seamless service including the ability to make applications direct to LINZ on behalf of our Local Authority clients” says Phil. “Previously this has been outsourced to an accredited third party supplier resulting in duplication of work and additional cost to our clients.”
Phil Shannon is a partner in the Tompkins Wake Commercial and Local Government Team. He has significant experience in negotiations with land owners including successfully facilitating some of the larger land acquisitions needed in the Wellington region for the Transmission Gully Motorway project. He has also assisted NZ Transport Agency with land acquisitions for motorway projects and Roads of National Significance from Invercargill to Auckland.
