Tompkins Wake advised Open Country on all aspects of the takeover by Dairy Trust in October this year. The takeover offer of $2.75 per share valued Open Country at approximately $104 million. Open Country begain production in 2004 and was the 25th fastest growing company in NZ in the Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50 Awards this year. Dairy Trust was successful in its takeover and is now NZ’s second largest milk company with plants in Southland and Waikato, and plans announced for new plants in Wanganui and Horotiu. Dairy Trust is a youthful company with ambition and drive and now has true global scale to take on the world.
